The product website says, “Singing Success is the most effective, comprehensive, and practical self-improvement vocal program ever published. With its 12 CDs, DVD, and workbook, it will systematically teach you the same world-renowned vocal techniques used by more recording artists and entertainers than any other. No other singing technique even comes close!” That’s a pretty bold statement. Does it do what it says it will? The following are reviews by actual students and my own results with the Singing Success:
“Brett’s [Singing Success] is so intricate, he’ll hone in on where you are as a singer. If you’re straining and have pitch or range problems, he can unlock your voice in a few short hours. It has saved my voice over the years.” Michael Barnes – Grammy nominated and Dove Winner
“Brett has given me the keys to get the most out of my voice.” Mark Kibble – Member of 10 time Grammy winning vocal group Take 6
“Before Singing Success, I didn’t really know how to work with my voice… I was totally lost. After Singing Success, I noticed improvements in just one week. I could hold out notes longer with out straining. It became so much easier!” Kayla Nettles – Country Singer
“People told me that I couldn’t sing and I would never have a career in the music business. I noticed improvements after ONE exercise! After only a year, I’ve entirely transformed from a classical singer to a pop singer. Singing Success is worth 10 times the investment!” Ali Lee – Pop Singer
My personal experience with the Singing Success program:
In college, I was a music major and studied voice. I also sang in a rock band and struggled with my range. My classically trained friends promised me if I would stick with my major I would be able to singer higher with more training. After all the training I received, I merely had the tone of a tenor with the range of a baritone. My range only increased by about a full step. After completing college, I decided to make a little extra money on the side teaching voice. Teaching the same techniques I was taught, my students didn’t see improvement in their range, either.
As the lead singer of a popular regional band, I sang at hundreds of gigs and at thousands of rehearsals. I was lucky to have some classical training to be able to “warm down” my voice after singing for hours, and that’s a good thing because of the strain that I was putting on my voice from trying to hit notes out of my range.
My range started to decrease on the high notes when I hit my late 30’s and early 40’s. Where I had been able to hit a high A on good days a few years earlier, I was struggling to hit an F. I simply thought aging was taking its toll on me.
That’s when I started to research the many different vocal training programs available on the internet. I stumbled across a video of someone claiming to have a 5 octave range and immediately thought it was a sensational (phony) advertisement. I clicked and watched Brett Manning sitting with the worst posture ever in front of a keyboard begin to sing not 5, but 6 full octaves. I had to watch it several times because I honestly couldn’t believe what I was hearing. After doing a little more research, I ordered my copy of Singing Success and immediately started work once it arrived.
To say I was happy about my results would be an understatement. Within two weeks (I did the exercises every other day), my range increased significantly. My chest (full) voice gained a full third – from an F to Bb. My head voice, which in college rivaled the first sopranos, made significant range improvement, as well. I was able to hit a high G within this time, and shortly after I was hitting a soprano high C and beyond with ease.
During that time, I played guitar and sang background vocals at my church. It’s a very large church and we played rock worship songs. The lead vocalist was a female and we’d routinely do songs that had a female background vocal part. After only a couple weeks, I was able to sing the alto background vocal parts – above the female lead lines – with ease. I had never been able to sing those parts before without flipping into falsetto. I was now hitting them with an increased range in my chest voice and newly found mix voice, and with power.
I always had good pitch because of my extensive time in recording studios before there was Auto Tune. But I did notice that my pitch was even better. I wasn’t scooping to notes as much. It was subtle, but I noticed the change and so did my friends. I had better vocal agility – being able to quickly hit notes right on and not slide around them.
I had always struggled with vibrato. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t sing with a vibrato reliably so I would sing without most of the time. I can now sing with a controlled vibrato on demand – not with a fast tremolo that most unskilled vocalists sing with today.
What was a very pleasant outcome for me was a richer vocal quality. I had always had a thinner, “boyish” vocal tone. Although it wasn’t a night and day change, it was a very nice quality that came as a result of the exercises and practice.
Today I lead music at a different church – sing and play guitar. It’s a guitar-driven rock style. We rehearse at 7 am before church. With the techniques I’ve learned and put in to practice, I am able to be warmed up and ready to sing with my full range early in the morning. Most of my singer friends are lucky to have that range later in the day. The warm up techniques are easy and I do them in my car on the way to rehearsal. I also use the warm down exercises and am able to keep my voice later in the day and to be able to sing the following day. Before the program, I wasn’t able to sing at all the day after.
I have since purchased Mastering Mix and a yearly subscription to Singing Success T.V. (Reviews to follow.)
I will admit that any singing program is not as good as having one-on-one instruction, so even Singing Success is not perfect. However, after doing this program, I will not hire a local coach who isn’t certified with Brett’s program (and they are very rare). As a matter of fact, a good friend of mine hired “THE” vocal coach in Seattle and I saw what she did to his voice and it wasn’t good. He strained even more and his vibrato went totally out of control. And the cost of one session with her would have paid for Singing Success. Really, the only way you can top this program is by hiring Brett or the very few coaches in his studio. If you have the money, see Brett in person. For the rest of us, the Singing Success Vocal Training Program will be an investment that is well worth the price. Your vocal ability will soar to unimaginable heights. I know mine did.
What you should do now:
I highly recommend you purchase Singing Success. I have spent much more for one-on-one training and didn’t get a fraction of the results I did with Brett’s course at a fraction of the cost. If you sing, this should be as no brainer as no brainers come. There is a 6 MONTH money back guarantee if you’re not satisfied – another no brainer.
Don’t put off. Get it HERE now.
